“A  Journey through Hong Kong's Postal History - A Glimpse of Hong Kong's Postal  History through the Old General Post Office Building (1911 - 1976)” Roving  exhibition was successfully held during September 2014 to late 2015 in  locations across the territory. The exhibition currently continues at the  Postal Gallery of the General Post Office


Once  standing at the heart of the Central District, the old General Post Office  (GPO) building housed the main operations of the Post Office, including counter  services and back-end mail processing functions, for over 60 years from 1911.  The exhibition chronicles the history of the local postal service and  highlights the architectural features of this magnificent historic building.


Hongkong Post has once issued a prestige stamp booklet specially for the exhibition. The booklet contains a wealth of information and photos concerning the old General  Post Office building.
