IntroductionExpand/Collapse

The Central  Government gifted a pair of giant pandas, Ying Ying and Le Le, to the Hong Kong  Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) in 2007. The pair welcomed a pigeon pair  of cubs on 15 August 2024. The twin cubs are the first-ever giant pandas  successfully bred and born in Hong Kong and Ying Ying is the world's oldest  first-time giant panda mother. Their birth is especially meaningful as it helps  advance the conservation and breeding efforts for giant pandas in Hong Kong.  The twin cubs have since captured the hearts of the public, who have been  keenly following their growth. On 27 May 2025, they received their official  names Jia Jia (Elder Sister) and De De (Little Brother). Hongkong Post issues special  stamps themed on "Giant Panda Twin Cubs" to showcase the highlights of their  daily lives at different stages and witness their growth journey.

$2.20 Stamp – At Two Weeks Old
The giant  panda twin cubs, Jia Jia and De De, weighed 122 grams and 112 grams  respectively at birth. The tiny duo grew remarkably fast and their weights more  than doubled in just two weeks—Jia Jia weighed around 328 grams, while De De  weighed around 278 grams. Black patches had also started to develop on their  tiny pink bodies. The stamp showcases the lovely, palm-sized twins at about two  weeks old, whose iconic "little vests" and "dark eye circles" are becoming more  pronounced.

$2.80 Stamp – At One Month Old
At one  month old, the giant panda twin cubs were growing stronger and developing  ever-thicker coats with each passing day. Although they were yet to see or  hear, the twin cubs wriggled and explored endlessly in their crib, fascinated  by the wonders of the world around them. As depicted on the stamp, the fuzzy  one-month-old cubs are starting to look like "miniature giant pandas".

$3.70 Stamp – At Two Months Old
Thanks to  the meticulous care of the animal care team, the giant panda twin cubs were  growing up healthily. Around two months after birth, the twin cubs finally  opened their tiny eyes for the first time, taking their first glimpse of their  loving mother and the caretakers who had been caring for them day and night.  The stamp captures the very moment when the twins, at about two months old,  open their curious eyes to the world.

$4 Stamp – At 100 Days Old
The giant  panda twin cubs turned 100 days old! They were marking another growth milestone  and gradually revealing their distinct characters. The twins, having continued  to grow rapidly like a summer storm, each weighed around 5 kilograms on their  100th day. Jia Jia had upcurved dark eye patches, resembling a pair of "phoenix  eyes", while De De's were round-ended. The stamp illustrates a heartwarming  scene of Jia Jia and De De snuggling together, utterly adorable.

$5.40 Stamp – Making Debut
The giant  panda twin cubs made their debut at six months old, marking a sweet and proud  moment. The cubs' boundless vitality and childlike charm were on full display  as they played with unbridled energy. The stamp features the playful twins  frolicking and tumbling on the grass.

$5.50 Stamp – Making Joint Debut with Mother Ying  Ying
For the  first time, Jia Jia and De De were joined by their mother Ying Ying to meet the  public. It marked a new chapter in their development, as the cubs would enjoy  more bonding time with their mother in a stimulating and enriching environment,  exploring their surroundings together. The stamp shows a warm and touching  moment as the twin cubs are cuddling up to their mother Ying Ying.

$10 Stamp Sheetlet
The $10  stamp sheetlet features the sweetness of father Le Le, mother Ying Ying and the  giant panda twin cubs. Ying Ying's maternal affection shines through in her  loving interaction with De De, making every tender moment truly heartwarming.  Jia Jia stays close by, looking charmingly cute and innocent.

$20 Stamp Sheetlet
Currently,  Hong Kong is home to six giant pandas. In addition to Le Le, Ying Ying and  their twin cubs (Jia Jia and De De), Hong Kong also welcomed two giant pandas,  An An and Ke Ke, gifted by the Central Government to the HKSAR in 2024.  Together they bring great joy and happiness to the community. The $20 stamp  sheetlet showcases the giant panda members in Hong Kong, with Jia Jia and De De  displaying their adorable and charming traits.

Official first day covers will be put on sale at $2.5 each at all post offices from 1 August 2025. Advance orders for servicing self-provided covers will be accepted at all philatelic offices from 1 to 7 August 2025.

Stamp products include mint stamps, stamp sheets, stamp sheetlets, souvenir sheets, presentation pack, collector pack, postage prepaid picture cards and serviced first day cover. Serviced first day cover and postage prepaid picture cards also will be available at all philatelic offices only.
