3Silver Hot Foil Lunar New Year Animal Stamps – Rat / Ox / Tiger / Rabbit

Hongkong Post presented its first and second sets of silver hot foil stamps on Lunar New Year Animals, themed “Dragon / Snake / Horse / Ram” and “Monkey / Rooster / Dog / Pig”, in 2015 and 2019 respectively. With quality printing, the issues were highly popular among philatelists. Hongkong Post now releases the third set of silver hot foil stamps for “Rat / Ox / Tiger / Rabbit”, drawing the fourth Lunar New Year stamp series to a perfect end. Printed in lithography with silver hot foil stamping and an embossing effect, the zodiac animals glitter and shine, adding festive ambience to the new year.

4Twelve Animals of the Lunar New Year Cycle Stamp Sheetlet

Hongkong Post has been issuing the fourth Lunar New Year stamp series since 2012, which includes “Year of the Dragon”, “Year of the Snake”, “Year of the Horse”, “Year of the Ram”, “Year of the Monkey”, “Year of the Rooster”, “Year of the Dog”, “Year of the Pig”, “Year of the Rat”, “Year of the Ox” and “Year of the Tiger”. In 2023, the twelfth Lunar New Year special stamp issue, “Year of the Rabbit”, is released. A set of four stamp sheetlets featuring all twelve Lunar New Year Animals in handicrafts will be released, lending an ambience of joyous festivity of the new year.

5Seasonal Trees in Hong Kong

Hong Kong enjoys a subtropical climate and is home to a rich variety of plants with more than 3100 plant species. To encourage the public’s awareness and appreciation of Hong Kong’s trees in all seasons, Hongkong Post issues a set of four stamps under the theme of “Seasonal Trees in Hong Kong” to introduce four kinds of seasonal trees that are commonly seen in the four seasons respectively, which include Yellow Pui that blooms in spring, Jacaranda that blossoms in summer, Bald Cypress that turns golden in autumn and Bell-flower Cherry that endures the strong cold of winter.

6Hong Kong Museums Collection – Jingguanlou

The Jingguanlou collection focuses on 20th century Chinese paintings and calligraphy. The collection covers mainly valuable works by masters of the Shanghai School of painting, with the most comprehensive collection of artworks created by Zhu Qizhan (1892-1996), Xie Zhiliu (1910-1997) and Chen Peiqiu (1923-2020) at different stages in their lives. Hongkong Post issues a set of six stamps and two stamp sheetlets on “Hong Kong Museums Collection – Jingguanlou” to showcase the representative works of these masters with a modern twist.

9Toys of Hong Kong – 1970s to 1980s

Hongkong Post releases a set of special stamps on “Toys of Hong Kong – 1970s to 1980s” as a sequel to the set of special stamps themed on “Toys of Hong Kong – 1940s to 1960s” issued in 2016. This set of six stamps features popular toys in the 1970s to 1980s, such as Chinese Billiards, Spinning Tops, Alloy Toys, Rockets, Play Houses and Robots, reflecting the booming development of the toy manufacturing industry, which was one of the four major industries in Hong Kong at that time.
