"The 12th Inter-School Stamp Exhibits Competition" Award Presentation and Exhibition Opening Ceremony
The 12th Inter-School Stamp Exhibits Competition Award Presentation and Exhibition Opening Ceremony was held at the Exhibition Gallery, Tuen Mun Town Hall, Tuen Mun on 28 December 2012. The ceremony was officiated by Mr LEUNG Cheuk-fai, Senior School Development Officer of the Education Bureau, and Mr Roy SIU, General Manager (Stamps & Philately).
The competition was organised by Hongkong Post, with the Education Bureau as co-organiser. This inspirational and educational local competition aims to nurture interest in philately among youngsters and students. With the support from parents, teachers and school principals, 85 frames of stamp exhibits were received from the 140 students participating in this year's event. After the award presentation, the guests of honour officially declared the opening of the 3-day exhibition (from 28 to 30 December). The exhibition was open to the public for free. A puzzle game themed the stamp issue in 2013 at our game booth was well received by parents and students. Visitors could also join the guided tour and stamp exhibit workshop on-site. The atmosphere of the exhibition was vibrant and lively. On departure, many visitors purchased souvenir covers and stamp products at our sales booth as a keepsake.
The success of the competition was attributable to the active participation of schools and teachers, as well as the full support of the Hong Kong Philatelic Society, China Philatelic Society, Hong Kong Police Philatelic Club and Tsim Sha Tsui Philatetic Club.
