The new Postal Gallery, located on 1/F, Hongkong Post Building, 8 Wang Kee Street, Kowloon Bay is open to the public from 11 December 2023.

Whether you are a stamp enthusiast or history lover, the Postal Gallery promises an engaging experience that will leave you with a newfound appreciation for the power of communication.
Time Tunnel - “The Development of Postal Services in Hong Kong" provides a brief overview on the development of Hongkong Post over the years, including the relocation of the General Post Office and the transformation of postal services. It also includes "Telling the Stories of Hong Kong through Stamps", introducing distinctive themes featured on Hong Kong stamps over the years and how these stamps help telling the stories of Hong Kong and the Motherland, and recording history.
The Postal Gallery also showcases exhibits rich in history, displays a variety of postal items used from 1960s to 1980s. Apart from reminisce about the past, you can also gain insights on how mail items are being processed all the way from sending to delivering. Although mail service looks simple, it actually involves complicated steps. To accurately delivering mail items to recipient, it requires a lot of dedication and effort from postal staff.



The inaugurate themed exhibition, “Stamps that Tell Stories” presents a wide selection of stamps and philatelic products covering categories of “The Return of Hong Kong and Development Opportunities”, “Culture and Art”, “Natural Landscapes and Ecology”.

The Postal Gallery located at the ground floor of the General Post Office in Central also displays a wide range of postal related items and philatelic products in different categories, such as commemorative stamps, special stamps and printing samples, etc. Besides, the Postal Gallery also displays items dedicated to the preservation, study and presentation of postal history.
While strolling through different corners of the Gallery, visitors will discover how the postal system evolved over time, and the role it played in establishing social bonds with the rest of the world. They will be able to observe the many changes the system underwent in response to economic, socio-cultural, political, geographical and technological factors.
The Gallery is divided into two different zones - the Precious Collections and the History Corner.
Apart from precious stamps, here you can find some invaluable stamp printing information such as running sheets.

Exhibits displayed at “A Journey through Hong Kong's Postal History - A Glimpse of Hong Kong's Postal History through the Old GPO Building (1911-1976)” roving exhibition are being held at the “History Corner” of the Postal Gallery on the G/F of the General Post Office.
A collection of postal equipment and historical photographs are displayed here with explanatory texts to reconstruct the image of the old GPO building.
